REMOTE MONITORING AND MAINTENANCE ON CRANES AND LIFTING SYSTEMS

How the system works

WE500+ communicates via Modbus RTU (or TCP/IP) protocol with the inverters that control the crane's movements. Using its integrated modem or network interface, it can establish an internet connection for remote assistance. WE500+ can also create a VPN connection to a server (Nethix Cloud or third-party) to ensure secure, private communication between the operator and the plant. Once connected, the operator can adjust parameters like limit switches and acceleration values for the three main movements: lifting, rotating, and skidding. This allows each crane to be customized for specific requirements, e.g., adjusting acceleration in windy locations. In addition to opening a communication channel with the inverters, WE500+ actively collects all main operating parameters such as:

• Input/output current and voltage of each inverter
• Output frequency of each axis
• Operating hours of lifting, rotating, and skidding groups
• Load weight
• Errors reported by the inverters
• Completed work cycles of the crane
• Other parameters

After collecting the parameters, WE500+ can send them to Nethix Cloud (or another platform), enabling centralized data collection from all installations. The data can be visualized as charts or tables and exported at any time.
